Just a staggering amount of seismic events in this area!!
It has been amazing to watch and keep track of the seismic events in northern Baja California and southern California for the past day or so. The small quakes and aftershocks just keep on coming.
Since 0000 hrs UTC until 2000 hours UTC there have been 404 seismic events on the map shown near the quake area. In 1200 minutes there have been over 400 events. That’s comes out to 1 every 3 minutes. That’s a lot. Most are not felt and don’t seem like a big deal. But taken in total it’s just a staggering amount of small tremors.
I imagine these will continue for up to a week or so. It just boggles my mind what the Earth is capable of. These events are truly awesome. This quake did not cause much death and not really a whole lot of damage, but it was 7.2 on the earthquake scale. And that’s a pretty big one.
I will keep up with the statistics and write more about them. I am fascinated with all these numbers and events. Keep on reading.

Very interesting, there does seem to be a lot of earthquake activity in this area. Is there an increase or is it we hear about it now that the media can get these stories across the world. Great hub.
